As has been AmCham´s tradition in previous years, we are conducting the annual Charity Fundrising Drive with the goal of sharing with those who need it the most in our communities. We are seeking again donations from our members to be distributed to a deserving charity in Slovakia. 

As we prepare for the coming winter months, cultures across the world stop to celebrate and give thanks for their harvest. Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.

But this year is different, as we continue to combat the coronavirus pandemic, we have to join together to overcome the challenges facing us and to help and share with those in need. 

This year AmCham plans to support The Civic Assosiation Childhood for the Children in Dobšiná.

The Civic Assosiation Childhood for the Children has been founded by two local teachers and it operates “Domček” – a place, which simulates a typical household. They meet with local Roma girls and women to prepare them for responsible motherhood and help them with child-rearing and household organization. They run a complex program of early care for the youngest children born into generational poverty in the local marginalized Roma community.
