Discover Your Creative Potential at TEDxHumenné 2024

"Your Creative Potential – Your Future" is the main theme of the first TEDx conference in Humenné, which will take place as part of the Slovak City of Culture 2024 program.

After being awarded the title of City of Culture 2024, Humenné has become a new hub of creativity and culture in eastern Slovakia. Thanks to the joint support of the Arts Support Fund, the Audiovisual Fund, the city of Humenné, and the Prešov Self-Governing Region, new artistic, cultural, and creative projects, residencies, and events are emerging in Humenné. Concerts, theater and film performances, exhibitions, art workshops and masterclasses, community gatherings, and literary readings are just some of the many activities enriching the city’s cultural life.

TEDxHumenné, the world-renowned conference format aimed at sharing "ideas worth spreading," builds on this rich cultural backdrop.

The First TEDx Conference in Humenné – November 15, 2024! On Friday, November 15, 2024, the TEDxHumenné conference will take place at the Municipal Cultural Center. It will be an all-day event focused on creativity as a key factor for the successful development of personal, professional, and societal potential—in art, culture, education, and technology.

TEDxHumenné will also address the questions raised by the rise of artificial intelligence and its impact on our future. This trend will not only transform technology but also creativity, and we want to be part of this discussion.

Participants can look forward to:

• 10 inspiring speakers from various fields
• A special musical performance during the conference and an evening concert at the History Art & Music Club
• Interactive activities during breaks
• Delicious refreshments and beverages from conference partners
• Opportunities for personal conversations with speakers and guests from art, business, education, and technology

Who can you expect at TEDxHumenné 2024? While it is common for TEDx conferences to gradually reveal the speakers as the event approaches, we can already introduce the first three:

• Gretka Pavlovová – Founder of the Atmosféra festival, who will share how to pursue your dream and build a successful music festival from scratch.
• Michal Valko – Scientist and AI expert who collaborated with Mark Zuckerberg on developing the LLaMA 3 language model, will explain why and how we should train models to reflect the whole of society.
• Zuzana Jančík Petrová – Literacy expert and educator, will clarify the importance of reading books in an age dominated by technology, mobile phones, and tablets, and its fundamental impact on creativity and empathy.
