On July 17, President of the Slovak Republic signed the so-called “Lex Corona” package of measures to mitigate negative effects of the pandemic on business environment. AmCham welcomes the fact that several of its long-term labor-related priorities found its place within the list of 115 improvements (in SK language).

World-class international primary school teaching in English will open in Košice in September 2020

In Košice, there will be a world quality brand in the international education of pupils aged 5 to 11. The private primary school (Košice International School) is included in the network of schools in the Slovak Republic and is authorized to teach as a candidate school International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School renowned Primary Years Program, which is used by more than 1780 schools in 109 countries. The official start date of the school is September 1, 2020.

Tax Manifesto 2020 - set of recommendations for tax policy improvements

A joint coalition of 15 business associations led by AmCham & SAF (Slovak Association of Finance) prepared a set of recommendations for tax policy improvements. While Tax Manifesto is not supposed to replace a much needed tax policy reform, it offers proposals that can relatively quickly increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the Slovak business environment.
