Slovakia entering lockdown as of November 25 + Manual for Employers

Following the official declaration of the Government of the Slovak Republic on 24 November 2021, a two-week lockdown for all citizens (including curfew) and a 90-day national emergency have entered into force on November 25 at midnight and will last at least until December 9

University of Economics in Bratislava Earns AACSB International Accreditation

AACSB International (AACSB) announced on November 16th, 2021, that University of Economics in Bratislava has earned business accreditation as the first business school in former Czechoslovakia and the 3rd school in V4 countries. 

The Labor Mobility Scheme for Slovakia

The International Organization for Migration (IOM)  in cooperation with the European Commission provided technical support to the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic for the development of a Labor Mobility Scheme for Slovakia (hereinafter referred as the Scheme). 

Changes to the System of Remedies under the Amendment to the Public Procurement Law

Around this time last year, the year before that and the year before that, we published three articles about changes to the system of remedies under the Slovak procurement law. Old habits die hard, so not even a full year has gone by and the procurement rules have been amended again. 

Employees´ meals will (again) feature new rules

On 26 October, members of parliament approved amendment to the Labor Code featuring new rules for meal plans of employees in Slovakia.

Patricia Gossányiová appointed Partner and Head of Dentons’ Banking and Finance practice in Slovakia

Global law firm Dentons has promoted Patricia Gossányiová to partner and appointed her Head of the Banking and Finance practice in Bratislava. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the delivery of high quality finance, capital markets and financial regulatory advice to the Firm’s clients in Slovakia.

Janssen Slovakia has a new Country Director

Júlia Dvorszki takes office as the new Country Director at Janssen Slovakia. Previously, she was the Head of Integrated Hematology HUB at Janssen Central Europe and Baltics. In Slovakia, she joined the team focusing mostly on the cancer, hematology, mental health and auto-immune diseases portfolio.
