AmCham in the Media - October 2021

As we do every month, we would like to inform you about some of the most important AmCham media appearances.    

On September 30, we held the 7th BSCF annual conference with key trends in business centers industry and hybrid work models were presented. The event was LIVE streamed by media partner TREND and covered also by TASR: teraz.sk, teraz.sk, openiazoch.zoznam.sk, openiazoch.zoznam.sk and dennikn.sk.

On September 29, portal bratislavskykraj.sk informed about the 12th year of AmCham´s Train the Trainer program for high school teachers starting in early October in 100% virtual environment.

Ronald Blaško joined the TREND Barometer twice in September answering the question whether he perceives the third pension pillar as an interesting tool for companies, organizations and employees (online & print version) on September 23. Four days later he answered the question, if rising energy prices and emission allowances affect our business (online version).

The Slovak Spectator published two articles within our AmCham blog taken over from AmCham Connection magazine. On September 28 Laura Dittel of the Carpathian Foundation wrote about Building resilience and seeking balance. On September 2, there was an article entitled Ways to create a functional innovation ecosystem, where selected experts shared their views on what the key ingredients for creating a functional innovation ecosystem in Košice are.

On September 13, the Slovak Spectator published an article about AISlovakIA describing the activities, mission, plans and transformation of this national platform which aims to connect academia, businesses and state.

On September 6, we got the positive testimonial from our member Marcelo Pascual, managing director of Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) who gave an interview to the Slovak Spectator. He noted that AmCham Slovakia alongside with AIFP and Globsec plays a relevant role in the discussions around health care in Slovakia. 

On September 6 the Slovak Spectator published an extended interview with Ronald Blaško about Slovakia's Recovery and Resilience Plan, the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, and about what Slovakia should do to attract new investments. He pointed out that Slovakia has drawn some of the lowest amounts of EU funds for a long time.

In relation with the beginning of the school year on September 1, AmCham Slovakia supported the initiative “Dajme deťom hlas” following an open call to the Slovak government to take into account the interests of children, their education and their health in general covid-19 regulations (atletika.sk, 40plus.sk).


At the beginning of September 2021, AmCham Slovakia, together with partners, organized the first physical event after 18 months at the Sheraton Bratislava Hotel, the traditional event: Welcome back to work social gathering. The main topic was the safe return of employees to offices. Hybrid working which is increasingly popular is also a hot topic for developers. They told us how the offices changed, how they adapted their services to new requirements and why it is important that employees also meet physically. We interviewed Adrian Bódis, Country Manager & Executive Director, IMMOFINANZ, and Martin Neštepný, Head of Smart Workplace Design & Solutions, ORIGAMEO by HB Reavis. Watch the video made on this event!
