AmCham in the Media - January 2022

As we do every month, we would like to inform you about some of the most important AmCham media appearances.  

On December 1, portal euractiv.sk published an interview with Michal Pintér, AmCham Vice-President, about U. S. Steel Košice on Steelworkers: We can contribute more than half of Slovakia's emissions reduction target by 2030.

On December 1, portal indexmag.sk mentioned East Innovation Conference in Košice in their IT Valley Brief #11 as AmCham Slovakia’s conference focused this year on the topic of Responsible Leadership.

On December 3, portals finweb.hnonline.sk, openiazoch.zoznam.sk, aktuality.sk, teraz.sk, e.dennikn.sk, Radio FM, Radio Lumen, and others published articles/news based on AmCham’s press release titled Reforms of public finances, taxes, and levies require an expert discussion. Call to convene a roundtable. AmCham cooperated on the press release with the Slovak Association of Finance and Treasury, the Slovak Chamber of Tax Advisers, and the National Union of Employers. 

On December 6, the daily Hospodarske noviny had a supplement on Digital Health that published a short interview with Petra Zappe, AmCham Senior Policy Manager, titled Failure to use telemedicine will cause many unnecessary deaths.

Od December 6, portals euractiv.sk, nextech.sk, tasr.sk, teraz.sk, openiazoch.zoznam.sk published the press release Slovakia urgently needs the adoption of effective reforms in the fields of education, health care, and justice that AmCham Slovakia together with five other foreign chambers of commerce in Slovakia prepared. Television TA3 published news related to the press release as well Radio Slovakia International.

On December 7, portal trend.sk published the article Business centers are aging. They have to import new people from abroad about business services centers in Slovakia, quoting Peter Rusiňák, AmCham Senior Policy Manager, and mentioning BSCF as well as AmCham Slovakia.

On December 10, the university website stuba.sk, portals dnes24.sk, tasr.sk, e.dennikn.sk, zive.aktuality.sk, teraz.sk and many others published the press release prepared by AmCham on Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization SR (MIRRI SR) becoming a member of AISlovakIA - National platform for the AI development in Slovakia, quoting Gabriel Galgóci, President of AmCham and mentioning AmCham as founding member of AISlovakIA.

On December 10 and 12, portals dnesky.sk, postoj.sk, teraz.sk, newsy.sk and many others published the press release Innovative treatment could be made more accessible thanks to the HTA agency and legislation discussing the outcomes of AmCham’s webinar on HTA and Innovation in Health care.

On December 12, portal Marketeris.sk in their weekly news from marketing agencies mentioned AmCham and its webinar on HTA and Innovations in healthcare.

On December 13, portal index.sme.sk and spectator.sme.sk published articles about the biggest businesses in Slovakia quoting Peter Rusiňák, Senior Policy Manager & BSCF coordinator about changes in BSCF, their automatization, and digitalization. 

On December 13, portal trend.sk published Barometer 50: How do you assess the government's performance in 2021? and published Ronald Blaško, Executive Director of AmCham’s reply.

On December 13, portal spectator.sme.sk published the article New investments, but also layoffs. The pandemic is not the only influence on the business sector in Slovakia with a useful recap of investment highlights of 2021 in Slovakia mentioning BSCF and AmCham.

On December 14, portal spectator.sme.sk published the article A circular strategy with real value originally published in Connection, the magazine published by AmCham Slovakia.

On December 15, TASR (the News Agency of the SR) published on their website a summary of the day mentioning AmCham’s roundtable on Technological sovereignty as well as a short article, and press release of Foreign and European Affairs Ministry state secretary Ingrid Brockova.

On December 15, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs mentioned AmCham’s roundtable on Technological Sovereignty on their website. State secretary Ingrid Brocková was one of spekaers at the roundtable.

On December 17, radio LUMEN, in their daily news, Infolumen (at 9:20), published news based on AmCham’s press release titled Reforms of public finances, taxes, and levies require an expert discussion.  AmCham Slovakia cooperated on the press release with the Slovak Association of Finance and Treasury, the Slovak Chamber of Tax Advisers, and the National Union of Employers.

On December 20, printed bi-monthly magazine Bedeker zdravia published the article Almost every second Slovak thinks that women themselves are partly responsible for the violence against women on p.73 mentioning the expert discussion co-organized by AmCham together with IKEA on the topic of targeted assistance to women as well as early intervention by employers.

On December 20, portal nextech.sk published AmCham’s press release Eastern Slovakia as a place for responsible business about the East Innovation Conference in Košice that took place in November 2021.

On December 28, portal spectator.sme.sk published in their English news digest brief note on a Feature story for the day and the article itself GDPR hampers trade unions‘ communication with employees, says major employers mentioning Peter Rusiňák, Senior Policy Manager at AmCham, and his quote regarding the trade unions’s means of communication with employees.
