As of July 2020, the Slovak Bird & Bird team has been strengthened by an experienced senior lawyer Ivan Kisely who is joining on the position of Counsel.

Ivan brings more than 12 years of experience predominantly in the area of Corporate/ M&A and Commercial practice areas with a specific focus on Automotive and Defence industry.

Ivan specialises on mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring schemes, corporate governance and shareholder disputes. He further supports clients in regulatory issues in selected fields, public procurement matters, compliance and white collar crime.

Having spent part of his legal career on a secondment as the General Counsel at one of the European market leading companies in the operation of high-power charging stations for electric cars on highways, Ivan extended his expertise into innovative legal fields, such as electromobility, connected cars, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.

Apart from the automotive industry sector, Ivan advises clients from across a broad spectrum of industries including energy & utilities, construction, technology and gaming as well as aviation & defence.

Ivan has been an external lecturer in Corporate Law for the past 12 years at the Law Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. He is a frequent presenter on issues and topics related to his expertise.

Prior to his joining of the Bird & Bird team Ivan worked in another reputable international law firm.
