AmCham Slovakia

The 10th Annual Richard Dewitt Arbitration Conference 2024 was held yesterday in the amphitheater of the Law Faculty at Comenius University in Bratislava. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Law Faculty of Comenius University for collaborating with us to organize this event. 

Over the years, it has grown into a respected expert conference, now celebrating its 10th anniversary.

This year's conference focuses on two specific topics:
Arbitration and Bankruptcy

• Arbitrability of claims
• Distressed M&A
• Participants in arbitration proceedings

Sports Arbitration

• Doping proceedings
• Evidence in sports arbitration proceedings
• Proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne

Representatives from AmCham Slovakia member companies have also contributed their expertise. The conference was opened by AmCham's First Vice-President Martin Magal of Allen & Overy, who also discussed AmCham's Role of Law initiative. The first panel discussion featured Martin Provazník of bpv BRAUN PARTNERS, Juraj Gyarfas of Dentons, and Viliam Mysicka of Kinstellar, who also chairs AmCham's Restructuring and Insolvency Task Force.
