Join the initiative for equal pay! Be part of Equal Pay Day 2024
What is Equal Pay Day?
Equal Pay Day (EPD) is a symbolic day that draws attention to the differences in pay between men and women.
Equal Pay Day draws attention to the ongoing problem of gender pay inequality, the so-called Gender Pay Gap (from now on referred to as GPG).
Why is it essential for this project to take place?
The current difference in wages in the Slovak Republic is 18.8, which still places us at the bottom of the EU, where the average is 13.
Women in Action decided to SPEAK OUT LOUD about age inequality and discrimination this year. Ageing affects equally to women and men. Through the topic of discrimination, we want to:
We know the importance of Ageing it affects all of us and all areas of our lives. Throughout the year, we focus on equal opportunity and pay from an Aging perspective. Together, we seek solutions to removing prejudices when employing people aged 50+, communicating better between generations, or achieving equal remuneration. In the Equal Pay Day 2024 conference we will bring following topics:
Topic: Bridge to connect generations.
We will look at the diversity and the inclusion of generational differences. In our workplaces currently meet 3 to 4 generations that have different approaches to work, values, leadership needs, and access to remuneration.
Topic: How to achieve equal pay in practice.
This is a practical topic that involves experts from companies that work on equal pay. They can give us tips and tricks from practice, name pitfalls, and reporting advice.
Topic: A Generational Approach to Investing and Thinking About Retirement Income
With this topic we want to focus on the problem of the pay gap negatively affecting the generations access to investing and their view of retirement security.
Topic: Brain drain
The last but not least important topic is the brain drain, which deepens the lack of qualified labour and the overall possibility of succession.
Topic: And what will happen after that
In this panel, we will discuss the pitfalls of seniority, both from the point of view of age and work seniority. How do you manage to motivate women to apply for managerial or more senior positions, and what are their experiences with leadership at the C-level? How can you get involved?
