AmCham Slovakia

Farewell to a Friend and Leader: Remembering Martin Magal

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic news of Martin Magal's fatal accident. Martin was a long-term member of AmCham's Board of Directors, serving as AmCham's First Vice President.

In moments like these, it feels almost inadequate to speak of Martin's remarkable and successful career, though he was widely regarded as one of Slovakia's most accomplished private-practice lawyers.

At AmCham Slovakia, Martin will be remembered not only as a brilliant colleague and friend but also as a driving force behind AmCham's Rule of Law Initiative. Above all, he embodied the values that AmCham Slovakia stands for. His unwavering commitment to improving the rule of law in Slovakia, despite many challenges, was truly admirable.

Two years ago, in his "Letter to Members" for AmCham’s Connection magazine, Martin seized the moment to promote the importance of reading and remind us that we all have the power to drive the change we wish to see, starting with ourselves. As he put it, "The pillars of a good society should, in my opinion, be resting on stacks of books."

His words and spirit will continue to resonate and will not be forgotten.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

Martin, you will be deeply missed. We will honor your legacy by carrying forward our shared mission with dignity and dedication. Rest in peace.
