Meeting with the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic
AmCham's Tax Committee members held a constructive meeting with Jozef
Kiss, President of the Financial Administration, the Ministry of
Finance’s Tax and Customs Section and the Institute for Financial
Policy.
We are grateful that they accepted our invitation and engaged in an open and productive dialogue. For AmCham Slovakia, this kind of regular, substantive dialogue between the public and private sectors is essential for shaping policies that support a strong and competitive economy. The discussion focused on AmCham’s proposed tax measures from the Tax Manifesto, with a shared commitment to continue cooperation on selected priorities in the coming months.
Strengthening the business environment, improving competitiveness, and creating better conditions for innovation remain essential for Slovakia’s future. According to the European Innovation Scoreboard 2025, Slovakia ranks 24th among the 27 EU Member States, highlighting the need for policies that better support economic growth and innovation.
Despite differing perspectives, the discussion was open, professional, and solution-oriented. All sides agreed on the importance of a stable, predictable, and pro-growth tax environment that supports long-term investment and strengthens Slovakia’s competitiveness.
Thank you to all participants for contributing to this important and constructive exchange.
