AmCham in the Media - March 2020
As we do every month, we would like to inform you about some of the most important AmCham media appearances.
During
the Healthy Future Conference AmCham together with 11 other healthcare
stakeholders presented 10 commandments for better healthcare for the
next decade. The event received coverage in prime time evening news on RTVS-TV on February 2nd.
On February 1st, Trend
broadcasted a 30-minute interview with Martin Vlachynský, INESS analyst
and one of the authors of the Healthy future 2030 position paper. TREND
also published several extended articles in printed and online version
about the Slovak HealthCare system . In the article the author referred
to the study of Healthy Future Initiative here (February 12) and here (February 28).
On February 2, TA3
informed about the business trip of Slovak employers to London as part
of the Work in Slovakia – Good Idea Initiative. AmCham representatives
attended a reception hosted by the Slovak Embassy in the UK to meet with
Slovaks living in the UK and raise awareness about relevant job
opportunities in Slovakia.
The Slovak Spectator published the series of articles related with BSCF activities:
- Young Slovak talent needs you,
- More flexible and modern labour legislation required and
- Sader: Flexible education system is key to further developing BSC sector.
Daily newspaper SME published on February 26 (page 21) the related article with the focus on automatization.
On February 4, Dennik E/N published AmCham´s Michal Krčméry statement criticizing
the method of selecting candidates for the Council of the Public
Procurement Office, which raised distrust and question marks. The rule
of law initiative finally achieved that the nominations of the proposed
candidates was abandoned. The story was covered by teraz.sk and TA3.
Slovak AI initiative was mentioned in an article by touchit.sk on February 14.
For the first time in history, the Confederation of Industry of the
Czech Republic invited representatives of 19 associations of employers
and artificial intelligence platforms from ten countries of Central and
Eastern Europe to roundtable negotiations. Slovakia was represented by
the Slovak Center for Artificial Intelligence Research - Slovak.AI.
On
February 18 AmCham Slovakia together with 12 other partner
organizations from the Rule of Law Initiative criticized the process of
governmental approval of 13th pensions, increase in child contributions
and the abolishment of highway vignettes. They published the common statement which received the significant media attention including: RTVS, webnoviny.sk, SME, 24hod.sk, bleskovespravy.sk, ekonomickydennik.sk, slovak.press.sk, ekonomickydennik.sk.
