AmCham in the Media - July 2020

As we do every month, we would like to inform you about some of the most important AmCham media appearances.      

In July, Ronald Blaško's statements were published in Trend Barometer in both print editions of the Trend monthly. He commented on PM Matovič's decision to prioritize the coalition over the pressure on Parliament Speaker B. Kollar (July 3) and how the pandemic changed our holiday habits (July 23)

Telecommunications regulatory office – AmCham’s efforts in ensuring a transparent selection process of chairman of the Telecommunications regulatory authority were mentioned by Dennik E/N

slovak.AI platform, co-founded by AmCham, was mentioned in the media repeatedly during July:

  • On July 1st, the portal wrote about a joint call for stricter regulation of artificial intelligence from15 Central and Eastern European associations, including Slovak.AI, addressed to the European Commision. 

  • On July 2nd, Trend has published an extensive article in print and online versions about the TOP events of the IT season 2019/2020, where they quoted from the slovak.AI survey about implementing of artificial intelligence in companies in Slovakia.

  • On July 16, Trend also published an online and printed article with a positive reference from a member of slovak.AI, Nettle - a startup that has attracted Google's attention after two years of existence.

On July 9/10, several media (,,,,,,, reported about the role of  the Rule of Law Initiative, which participated in the expert selection committee for the candidates of the Public Procurement Council (Rada UVO).

On July 13, a joint coalition of 15 business associations led by AmCham & SAF (Slovak Association of Finance) prepared a set of recommendations for tax policy improvements. The Tax Manifesto 2020 received significant media coverage in, Hospodárske noviny,, dnes,,,,

On July 13, Slovak spectator published an article from the AmCham Connection magazine on contribution of artificial intelligence in health care. 

On July 21, news about the opening of a new International primary school in Košice (KEIS) and AmCham role in the process were published on and

On July 24, Christiana Serugova, AmCham Tax Committee Chair & Board member was also host of a Trend interview to present the Tax Manifesto. Trend also published a series of videos on the topic. 

On July 28, HN published an article on Tax Manifesto in the print version of the newspaper. Dennik E/N and TA3 also reported in detail about the proposed recommendations included in the Tax Manifesto 2020.
