CMS wins 2019 Deal of the Year for pharma acquisition
International law firm CMS has been recognised for its work advising
Advent International and its portfolio company Zentiva on the
acquisition of the CEE business of global generic and over-the-counter
(OTC) pharmaceuticals manufacturer Alvogen.
The transaction was named 2019 CEE Deal of the Year by CEE Legal Matters.
The acquisition brought together two leading branded generics and OTC businesses in the CEE region, with complementary strengths, product portfolios, geographical footprints and cultures. Prague-based Zentiva has been able to extend its geographical footprint with the acquisition of Alvogen, which markets over 200 generic and OTC products across multiple therapeutic areas with leading market positions in over 14 key CEE jurisdictions, including Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and the Balkans.
