Sustainability Takes on a New Dimension

This Saturday, 5 September, the 18th edition of Telekom Night Run will culminate in Bratislava.

The final event will also provide an opportunity for the ESG community to come together and witness the unveiling of Recycled T – an almost four-metre-high art installation made from 1,200 old mobile phones collected during this year’s runs at Štrbské Pleso and Donovaly. The installation was created by Slovak film scenographer and production designer Erik Ivančík.

Telekom is bringing together sustainability, art and sport. Special Grand Prix medals, created by Erik Ivančík from used SIM cards, have also been designed for the occasion. Old mobile phones contain a wide range of valuable materials, and professional processing can recover more than 90% of these materials, including gold, platinum and nickel.

Recycled T brings the idea of circularity from everyday life into public space – showing that even devices that have seemingly reached the end of their useful life can still have value and contribute to further use.

We look forward to coming together and unveiling Recycled T this Saturday at Sad Janka Kráľa at 5:45 p.m.
