Competitive Slovakia: Implications of the Transaction Tax: What it Brings to the Business Environment?
Monday, Mar 24, 2025 From 09:00 to 11:00
Jurkovičova Tepláreň, Bottova 1, Bratislava
Business Breakfast
Slovakia proved to be an economy with a concrete strategy to improve the business climate and investment opportunities over time. Whether it was the reasonable cost of labor going hand in hand with the good productivity level, the later flat tax rate, state subsidies, or a skilled, educated workforce. Today, sector-wise, Slovakia stands on the main economic pillars, which are automotive, electrotechnical, and shared services, but also on small and medium enterprises that create the healthy backbone of any economy.
A financial transaction tax was introduced in Slovakia on January 1, 2025. Changes to the business environment raise questions about how effectively the Slovak business environment can operate on the market. Join us for a Business Breakfast with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Financial Administration on the Financial Transaction Tax.
The discussion will be focused on:
- Practical application of the tax and ambiguities in its interpretation.
- Changes resulting from amendments to the Financial Transaction Tax Act.
- Implications on business and investment.
