Tuesday, Apr 28, 2026 From 14:00 to 15:00
Štúrova 4, Bratislava
Presentation
Petra Marko, CEO of the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava (MIB), will introduce AmCham members to the role of this city organization in shaping urban planning, public spaces revitalization, and participatory placemaking for the City of Bratislava, to increase the quality of life for its citizens and address global challenges the city faces.
The goal of MIB is to support high-quality architecture and functional solutions in urban projects, and plans that reflect the needs of Bratislava's residents, also in light of social and climate change.
Hosted at TU-BA, Bratislava’s first centre for architecture and city planning, which serves as a platform for dialogue and active participation established by MIB, Petra will bring insights into the key development challenges facing Bratislava and explore how cooperation between the public and private sectors can contribute to building a high-quality, sustainable, and competitive city.
Petra Marko is an architect and placemaking expert dedicated to creating people-centred cities. She spent more than 15 years in London, where she co-founded a placemaking practice working on urban regeneration, public space design and town-centre strategies across the UK and Central Europe.
