AmCham Slovakia

AmCham in the Media - October 2025

As we do every month, we would like to inform you about some of the most important AmCham media appearances.

On September 24, various media outlets (Trend, Nextech, SITA) reported on the open call issued by the Rule of Law Initiative, which rejected the proposed form of consolidation measures and called for dialogue, predictability, and professional solutions to halt the economic decline and ensure long-term stability.

In her latest article published in cooperation with Mediaplanet Czechia & Slovakia, AmCham Slovakia's HR expert Júlia Jurčíková, explores how AI, automation, and quantum computing are transforming not only the jobs we do, but the skills we need. As she points out, Slovakia must perceive this challenge also as an opportunity.

On October 7, HN Online published an in-depth interview with economist and analyst Viliam Páleník about the analysis of the government’s proposed consolidation measures and their impact on the business environment, prepared for AmCham Slovakia. He also shared insights on which sectors will be most affected and the broader implications for the Slovak economy.

On October 23, the Rule of Law Initiative, together with several business associations, participated in a press conference addressing the proposed amendment to the Environmental Fund Act. Martin Jacko, Chairman of the Initiative, delivered a joint statement on behalf of the foreign chambers of commerce and the Initiative, stressing that the proposal had been submitted without proper interdepartmental review, expert consultation, or stakeholder engagement. He warned that such an approach undermines transparency, legal certainty, and the overall quality of the legislative process. The event was covered by major national broadcasters TV Markíza and TV JOJ, which highlighted the concerns of businesses and municipalities about the potential negative impacts on waste collection and local communities.
