Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how technology can transform not just operations, but entire business strategies. It’s something I’ve always been passionate about—not just in the professional world, but in my personal life as well. Whether it’s staying ahead of digital trends in the workplace or keeping up with my kids at home, I’ve always believed that embracing technology is key to staying relevant and forward-thinking. Maybe it’s even my way of staying young forever!
This passion for technology and innovation is what drives my vision for the AmCham Digital Committee. Our role is clear: to drive impactful digital transformation initiatives today while laying the foundation for long-term innovation. Businesses are already feeling the impact of AI, automation, and digitalization, but to fully unlock their potential, we need a balanced approach that prioritizes ethical AI adoption, cybersecurity resilience, and strong digital policies that support both business growth and consumer protection.
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept—it is already reshaping industries, economies, and public services. The challenge is ensuring that AI adoption is responsible, transparent, and accessible to businesses of all sizes. By fostering AI literacy, supporting SMEs with real-world AI use cases, and bringing global AI leaders to Slovakia, we can ensure AI becomes an engine of economic growth rather than a source of disruption.
Yet, as we embrace AI, we must also reinforce cybersecurity. Digital threats are growing in complexity, and businesses—especially small and medium enterprises—need more support in protecting their operations. Cloud security, IoT protection, and AI-driven cybersecurity strategies will be critical in helping companies stay resilient against emerging threats. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are working to make cybersecurity knowledge more accessible, ensuring that organizations can anticipate and mitigate risks before they become crises.
Beyond AI and security, digital legislation plays a crucial role in shaping the future of technology adoption. With new regulations emerging, businesses need clarity on how to navigate policies such as the AI Act and the Digital Services Act. Through our initiatives, we are working to simplify complex regulations, advocate for balanced digital policies, and ensure Slovakia’s businesses remain competitive in an increasingly regulated environment.
However, none of these advancements will matter without a digitally skilled workforce. Innovation depends on people’s ability to use technology effectively, yet digital literacy remains a gap in many industries. Bridging this divide will require collaboration between businesses, educators, and policymakers to equip people of all generations with the skills needed to succeed in the digital age. From empowering students with cutting-edge tech education to helping professionals upskill in AI and cybersecurity, building a strong digital foundation will be critical for Slovakia’s long-term success.
We are at a pivotal moment where AI-driven innovation, cybersecurity resilience, and digital skills development will define Slovakia’s role in the global digital economy. However, achieving this vision requires more than just technological advancement—it demands cross-sector collaboration, continuous learning, and a strong commitment to ethical digital development.
AmCham’s greatest strength is its ability to bring experts, policymakers, and businesses together to shape the future. As we look ahead, our goal is clear: to ensure that Slovakia remains at the cutting edge of digital innovation while creating inclusive, forward-thinking policies that benefit businesses and society alike. Together, we can navigate the complexities of the digital age and drive meaningful, lasting innovation.
