Whether it was the reasonable cost of labor going hand in hand with the good productivity level, the later flat tax rate, state subsidies, or a skilled, educated workforce. Today, sector-wise, Slovakia stands on the main economic pillars, which are automotive, electrotechnical, and shared services, but also on small and medium enterprises that create the healthy backbone of any economy.

A financial transaction tax was introduced in Slovakia on January 1, 2025. Changes to the business environment raise questions about how effectively the Slovak business environment can operate on the market.
