Artificial Intelligence and FDI-invested Business Service Centers: Selected Macroeconomic and Corporate Aspects
Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) proudly announces
the introduction of the first scientific research project targeted on
impact of the business centers industry on the Slovak economy, as well
as wider CEE region.
The project consists of research of two integrated parts: macroeconomic and corporate one. From macroeconomic point of view, the project will include an analysis of the business environment for shared service centers and business centers, an assessment of their impact on the local economy, as well as a proposal for changes that will stimulate their further creation and increase the benefit for the Slovak economy. From a corporate point of view, the project will analyze the position of shared service centers and business centers in the strategies of multinational corporations. It will identify major problems in their management and suggest the ways how to overcome them. The authors will outline the development of these centers in Slovakia in AI era, our future position among Central and Eastern European countries in investors´ strategies, as well as possibilities of the centers in creating artificial intelligence tools important for their own companies as well as the local corporate and public sector.
The Faculty of Commerce (OF EUBA) welcomes the opportunity to streamline the research project under the leadership of prof. Soňa Ferenčíková, aiming to analyze the business service centers industry in Slovakia. We will look at how it has developed over the last almost three decades, compare the position of the country with others within CEE, and consider further development scenarios in the AI-driven future. Part of the output will be practical recommendations for business centers themselves as well as policy recommendations for the decision-makers influencing the business environment. The final project report is due by the end of 2027.
